LG’s upcoming Optimus 3D Android smartphone will go on sale on 3 and Vodafone when it hits the UK, we have learned.
According to tech hounds at Mobile Smug, the Optimus 3D, which is currently in the running for the title of the world’s first Android 3D smartphone, will launch on UK networks 3 and Vodafone. However, the all-important release date and pricing details are still the unknown and neither Vodafone nor 3 has officially announced plans regarding the handset yet.
LG is due to officially unveil the much-hyped smartie next week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Last week the South Korean electronics giant released a teaser trailer with eye-popping newspaper headlines and grammar that left us in a tizzy.
LG has good reason to be excited, though. The Optimus 3D packs quite a punch when it comes to hardware credentials, with specs that include a four-inch glasses-free 3D display with a 1080p output, a dual core 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor, an eight-megapixel snapper with autofocus, stereoscopic support and geo tagging. It also runs the latest iteration of Android, version 2.3, i.e. Gingerbread, out of the box so there's no need to wait around for an eternity for a software update.
Watch this space for more information regarding the Optimus 3D very soon.
